It is with regret we have to announce the passing of Dr Jean-Christophe Balouet.

Dr Balouet was one of the three original people to propose the term 'Aerotoxic Syndrome' in 1999.

Dr Balouet passed away yesterday on Wednesday 31st March 2021

​

Dr Balouet played an important role in the early days of the contaminated air issue.

He will be remembered globally for his work on the subject. Our thoughts are with his family.

Aerotoxic Founders Virtual Memorial

The GCAQE will be hosting a memorial Zoom meeting to remember

and pay our respects to these three important people.

They played an important role in the early recognition of the contaminated air issue.

Doctorant de la Sorbonne, PhD of Smithsonian Institution (Washington DC), spécialiste internationalement reconnu en environnemental forensics depuis les années 1990 (auteur de 96 publications) et promoteur, notamment, de la datation des pollutions hydrocarbonées par dendrochronologie le Docteur Jean Christophe Balouet a été également secrétaire général de la CNEJE et accompagné 3 présidents. Il a apporté une approche nouvelle à tous les experts, largement inspirée de son expérience aux USA.

Investi dans de nombreuses instances internationales et de nombreux  domaines hautement techniques allant de la paléontologie au syndrome aérotoxique, il a permis à de nombreux experts d'évoluer positivement dans l'approche analytique et la compréhension des pollutions environnementales.
